Diameter determination methods - Appendix B

1a. Determing the diameter of the fiber along the test span from end segments of the same fiber strand. See section 3.4 Diameter measurement

1b. Drop super glue to secure the fiber to the frame. Diameter of the fiber is measured from the tension free end of the fiber that sticks out of the super glue droplet by using SEM [Chen et al 2008].

2. Using Average Diameter

Taking an average diameter measurement of at least 60 nanofibers from SEM image [Tan et al 2006; Chew et al 2006] as the dameter of the tested nanofiber.
