Electrospun Structures

Electrospinning is able to generate various fiber morphology similar to traditional fiber spinning technique. While a smooth surface fiber is generally desirable, beaded and pitted fibers may be useful in certain niche applications. Beyond the morphology of the fiber, it is also possible to fabricate various fiber structures.

In the most basic electrospinning setup, the resultant nanofibrous structure is a nonwoven mesh. While this is good for some applications and general testings, there are many other applications that require more ordered assemblies or structures. This section will feature various nanofibrous structures that have been constructed using electrospinning.
